Fields: Item Detail Page

Here is information about the fields (features) on the Item Detail page.

New

Click to refresh page and create a new item.

 

Copy

Click to copy existing item. All values will be copied except for the ID field. A new ID is required for the copied item.

This feature is helpful when creating multiple items with either the same context or responses. It is designed to reduce data entry requirements.

 

Statistics

Click to view Item Statistics page.

Statistics may only be entered if the item’s instrument has a status of Administered or Public.

 

ID

An item’s variable name used throughout Assessment Center and in analysis.  An Item ID is unique across all studies in Assessment Center.

NOTE: This field is required.

 

Language

The language in which the item is written. This field is selectable while an instrument is Under Development and becomes a label once the instrument status is changed to Locked, Administered or Public.

Version

This dropdown list indicates the mode of item delivery (text, IVR, multimedia, etc.).

NOTE: Text is the only version currently available.

Domain

An item’s domain(s). Each item must be assigned to at least one domain but may be assigned to multiple domains.

NOTE: This field is required.

 

Context

Context is the discourse that gives meaning to an item and is usually associated with a timeframe (e.g., “In the past seven days,”) but could also be instructions for a given item.

 

Stem

Stem is the statement or question to which the participant responds. For example, “I am too tired to do housework.”

NOTE: This field is required.

 

Responses

This section displays the response options associated with the item.

 

Add Another Row

Click this button to add additional response option rows. 

Response option rows are only required for multiple choice, checkbox list and drop list response types.

Warning: A checkbox list item is limited to 63 response options. You may not include more than 63 response options as this would result in a loss of data.

 

Score

The numeric value associated with a response option. Score is not displayed to study participants on data collection screens but is recorded in the database upon participant response selection.

Score is only required for multiple choice and drop list response types.

 

Response Text

The text associated with response options. This text is what study participants will see and select on data collection pages.

Response text is only required for multiple choice, checkbox list and drop list response types.

 

Delete

This hyperlink will delete a response option row.

 

Administration Study

Study from which this item originated.

 

Original Instrument

Instrument from which this item originated.

 

Creation Date

Date this item was created.

 

Show Item History

Click this button to view information to be stored for this item, such as:

·    Events: An item’s Item History Category and whether it has been modified.

·    Details: Related to the Item History Category you chose.

 

Save

Saves changes and updates.

 

Cancel

Used when you want to drop existing changes.
